The website "Gender-Sensitive Pedagogy" is a portal for gender issues for professionals in social and educational work. Here, topics in gender pedagogy are explored using concrete examples and presented in a methodological and didactic manner. The website has now been redesigned, making much important information even more easily accessible to professionals in the field
Professionals provide support
The website aims to provide guidance and support for professionals in their training. Among other things, it demonstrates how professionals can work with the extensive materials created by young people and young adults of all genders as part of the youth project "MeinTestgelände" (My Test Site). Furthermore, it offers the opportunity to benefit from the experience with gender-sensitive educational methods developed within this youth project.
Promoting and developing gender competence
"MeinTestgelände" is a joint project of the German Federal Association for Boys' Work (BAG) and the German Federal Association for Girls' Politics (BAG Mädchen*politik). Young people can express their views online, individually or in groups, on topics such as gender, equality, justice, participation, and diversity. The concept includes the principle that the topics and forms of expression in texts, videos, songs, and images are completely free, as long as no one is hurt or offended.
With the support of the two federal working groups, an online magazine has been created that provides comprehensive information on what moves young people regarding gender – exclusively from their own perspective.
Involving and empowering young people
The gender magazine serves as an outstanding model, demonstrating how young people with diverse orientations can express themselves openly and with pedagogical support on gender issues and become active journalistically in different formats.
The Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth supports initiatives like "MeinTestgelände" (My Test Site) to empower young people in particular to recognize, question, and address relevant gender issues in a way that promotes equality. This aims to dismantle gender stereotypes and enable diverse lifestyles, thus promoting equality.
