Traffic-safe Bremen: but safe!

Working together for a safer Bremen: The information portal “aber sicher!” provides traffic education and traffic prevention in the state of Bremen for both teachers and parents, so that the school route becomes even safer for children.

The alliance "but safe! – together for a safer Bremen" is committed to making Bremen a safer place to drive. On the information portal, teachers can find the necessary teaching materials and suggestions for traffic education, as well as traffic education modules that we and our partners bring to schools to support traffic lessons.

Topics/Materials:

School Route : Once a year, we offer the "Active and Safe to School!" campaign for all grade levels. Over a three-week period in autumn, we aim to encourage as many children as possible to walk to school, thereby reducing the number of parents driving their children to school and raising awareness among children and parents about the benefits of walking. The SCHOOL EXPRESS is a so-called "walking bus" that operates without parental accompaniment. Approximately 10-12 stops serve as meeting points for the children in the mornings, where they then walk to school together. This project promotes children's independence and physical activity. Additionally, the children are accompanied on their school routes by yellow footprints. The Bremen and Bremerhaven police paint small yellow footprints at the safest places for children to cross the street, showing them the most secure route to school.

Mobility and traffic education : Traffic education is an important topic that accompanies children throughout their school years. It is anchored in the framework curriculum for general studies. In cooperation with the partners of the "aber sicher" working group, we want to support all teachers in the state of Bremen in the theoretical and practical aspects of traffic education.
