Committed? Apply now for the German Child Benefit Foundation Bremen Prize 2024

"With the German Children's Benefit Foundation Prize, we want to recognize new or existing projects that promote the integration of children and young people and combat their exclusion and discrimination. The prize money is intended to help significantly expand a project or transfer it to another district in Bremen, thereby increasing its impact. We would also be delighted if you have a new project idea and we can use the prize to support or accelerate its implementation," said the German Children's Benefit Foundation Bremen.

The primary focus is on ensuring that the proposed projects contribute to increasing equal opportunities through education, integration, or the special support of children and young people. The foundation supports voluntary engagement and raises the profile of projects: See the projects already being funded (link).

The German Child Benefit Foundation Bremen:

The German Child Benefit Foundation is an initiative of Bremen citizens to promote new, non-profit projects with the goal of creating equal opportunities for children and young people. It was founded to contribute to addressing current and future challenges facing our society.

The foundation aims to act as a catalyst, financial backer, project initiator, and innovation hub; its guiding principle is "integration"—integration through education, integration through sports, integration through language. In Bremen, one in four children is affected by poverty; they quickly fall behind in their education because their families lack the money for many things.

The German Child Benefit Foundation aims to provide compensatory support in this area: offering start-up funding or co-financing for projects or programs that enable disadvantaged children to overcome their initial disadvantages. The foundation supports demonstrably effective projects such as StudyFriends, mitKids Active Mentoring Programs, the Bremen Sports Academy, Theater 11, and many others.

The German Child Benefit Foundation Bremen is affiliated with the Bremen Civic Foundation as a trust foundation. The initial capital was raised by the foundation's initiators. In addition to the returns on the foundation's assets, the projects of the Child Benefit Foundation are supported by regular child benefit donations from high-income families who recognize a social inequality in the current tax regulations.
