Family education promotes parental education skills.
It aims to contribute to more successful parenting, relationships, and family life. After all, the foundation for a self-determined life is laid within the family. Parents give their children love, support, and stimulation; they are both role models and a safe haven. This presents many parents with challenges. In everyday family life, mothers and fathers face questions with every developmental step their child takes – and they don't always find answers within their family or circle of friends.
Family education is a task of preventive child and youth welfare services
Family education provides early and lifelong support to parents in fulfilling their parental responsibilities and strengthens their resources for managing everyday family life. It also prepares young people for living together in partnerships and families.
The "Family Education Network" currently meets twice a year. It is open to all interested parties and always has interdisciplinary members. It works in a results-oriented and goal-driven manner and serves as a platform for exchange, information sharing, and the development of joint projects. Sub-working groups exist for specific topics.
