The database provides initial guidance

A database currently listing nearly 60 advice centers for immigrants can be found on the website of the Senator for Labor, Social Affairs, Youth and Integration. It provides immigrants with an initial overview of services available in their neighborhoods and also facilitates networking among advice centers, which can then refer them to a more suitable organization if needed. The database will be further expanded in the coming weeks and months, and all centers offer free consultations. The information can be filtered by the search criteria "topic" and "neighborhood".

Find targeted, suitable advice

“Bremen and Bremerhaven offer a very diverse and competent range of advisory services for immigrants,” says Nadezhda Milanova, Bremen’s Commissioner for Migration and Integration. “It is important to me that immigrants receive precisely the competent advice and support they need. When this happens, we all benefit as a society. That’s why I’m very pleased that we now have a database where people can specifically search for advice on certain topics.”

A broad range of topics covering all aspects of life

The range of topics covered by the advice centers extends from employment and training to asylum, residency and naturalization, disability, dealing with authorities, health, care and elderly people, protection from violence, legal matters, school, family and childcare, sexual orientation and gender identity, as well as language courses, housing and assistance with payment difficulties. Listed there are, among others, the advice centers "Arriving in the Neighborhood," asylum procedure counseling, outreach counseling for young refugees at the Youth Employment Agency, and BBMeZ – counseling for victims of human trafficking and forced prostitution.
