Today, April 30th, is the Day of Non-Violent Upbringing. The Bremen Child Protection Association is celebrating the day and reminding everyone how important it is for children to grow up in a loving and respectful environment.

The Bremen Child Protection Association is taking this opportunity to highlight the importance of non-violent parenting. Violence in any form, whether physical or psychological, leaves lasting scars and can have serious consequences for a child's development and life.

Children and young people have the right to grow up in an environment free from violence. Parents, educators, teachers, and society as a whole share responsibility for ensuring a violence-free upbringing. "Through positive parenting methods, support, and non-violent conflict resolution, we can contribute to children growing up healthy and happy," says Iris von Engeln, Managing Director of the Bremen Child Protection Association.

How can non-violent parenting succeed?

On April 30th, between 2 pm and 6 pm, the German Child Protection Association (Kinderschutzbund) will be informing adults about non-violent parenting and the services offered by the association at Ansgarikirchhof in Bremen's city center. They will provide concrete suggestions on how to manage difficult family situations in everyday life.

We would also like to draw your attention to our parenting courses. "Strong Parents – Strong Children" is our course offering for anyone who wants to experience more joy, ease, and confidence in raising children. "In these courses, parents learn practical tools and strategies to manage everyday family life with more composure and confidence. Parenting isn't always child's play," says Julia Sweers, parenting course leader and employee of the Bremen Child Protection Association.
