Since its founding on August 1, 2004, KiTa Bremen has been an integral part of Bremen's education system, significantly shaping the development of countless children with its 90 children's and family centers. Under the motto "We get education moving – yesterday, today, tomorrow," the organization is celebrating not only an anniversary but also a success story. To mark its 20th anniversary, KiTa Bremen is compiling the highlights of the past years.
Anniversary newspaper celebrates 20 years of educational work
KiTa Bremen is publishing a special anniversary edition, looking back on twenty years of educational work. In addition, KiTa Bremen will publish a special edition in the summer of 2024. Readers will learn about the issues currently affecting children's and family centers and how the organization is shaping the future of education. Congratulatory messages from the mayor, interviews with management, insights into current model projects, and much more will round out the KiTa Bremen publication.

Two decades of early childhood education
For twenty years, KiTa Bremen has been an integral part of Bremen's education system, significantly shaping the development of countless children through its 89 children's and family centers. Under the motto "We get education moving – yesterday, today, tomorrow," the organization is celebrating not only an anniversary but also a success story.
Actively shaping education
With the vision of promoting and shaping education in a networked way, with a focus on the family, the organization has already set important pedagogical standards in childcare. The expertise and know-how gained over the years make the children's and family centers nationwide role models with a clear vision for the future
“With our work, we not only respond to societal demands, but also actively shape education. From intercultural education and early childhood language development to inclusion – we will continue to focus on the needs of children and families and continuously develop our services,” says Wolfgang Bahlmann, Managing Director of KiTa Bremen. He adds: “Yesterday we were pioneers in education, today we are catalysts, and tomorrow we will be trailblazers.”
Education must not stand still
To celebrate its 20th anniversary, KiTa Bremen has compiled the highlights of the past years in this special publication. The anniversary magazine showcases the issues currently facing the facilities and how the organization is shaping the pedagogy of tomorrow. This look back at two decades of educational work and this glimpse into the future clearly demonstrate that KiTa Bremen's success is only possible thanks to the tremendous dedication of its staff.
Every day, 2,500 people at KiTa Bremen ensure that children are not only cared for, but also supported on their journey. They encourage the children and help them develop their potential. KiTa Bremen is proud of the teams in its children's and family centers and looks forward to continuing to make a positive contribution to children's upbringing and learning together with them. Because education must not stand still – it is an ongoing process that KiTa Bremen continues to drive forward.
