Funding will again be available for projects in 2025 that focus on integration work with and for refugee families. Applications can be submitted until December 20, 2024.

Making it easier for refugee families to arrive

The money will be used for projects that facilitate the integration and participation of refugee families in the neighborhood, promote encounters between refugees and the local community, and support families in managing their daily lives. Dr. Claudia Schilling, Senator for Labor, Social Affairs, Youth and Integration, envisions, for example, discussion groups, parenting classes, parent mentors, excursions, neighborhood tours, as well as digital formats for exchange and interaction.

Bremen projects should meet people's needs

The projects are specifically aimed at families, mothers, fathers, and other caregivers with a refugee and/or migration background. The projects should meet the needs of people in the neighborhood, be easily accessible, and sustainable. Examples of projects in this area include language cafés, family outings to farms, and painting classes for single parents.

Applications can be submitted until December 20, 2024

Family-oriented organizations and initiatives in the city's neighborhoods, as well as organizations planning citywide programs for the integration of refugee families, can apply for funding. The application deadline is December 20, 2024. If funds remain available after this date, this will be communicated so that further applications can be submitted.

Project proposals should be submitted to the Senator for Labor, Social Affairs, Youth and Integration (Department 21). The contact person is Marina Jürgens (phone: +49 421 361 10927, marina.juergens@soziales.bremen.de)
