Another year with the free public transport pass is coming to an end, and the next year is just around the corner! Here's some important information for children, teenagers, as well as parents and guardians.
Don't throw away your free ticket!
The free card will be automatically topped up with €60 starting January 1, 2026. However, the new balance won't be visible in the app until January 2. It will already be topped up on January 1, so you can redeem your card immediately.
Best overview with the FreiKarte app
As always, you can check your current balance in the app and on the FreiKarte website . The FreiKarte app is also becoming even more user-friendly: newly added businesses and establishments will be marked in the overview. The bell icon in the top right corner will now indicate any important updates.
Are there any new places participating in the FreiKarte program?
Even after three years, new locations are regularly added. Among the latest are the Bremen Philharmonic Orchestra, Tiko's Tobe-Land (children's play area), and the Altes Eiswerk Bremerhaven (Old Ice Factory Bremerhaven). As always, you can find an overview of all currently participating venues on our website and in the FreiKarte app.
