Since July 22, 2024, citizens have been able to use the Federal Employment Agency's digital services (eServices) easily and securely with their Federal ID. This includes services provided by the Federal Employment Agency, local employment agencies, job centers, and family benefits offices.

Federal Interior Minister Nancy Faeser:

"We want to make life easier and more digital for citizens. The BundID as a central user account is a huge step forward, ending the paperwork in many areas and eliminating the need for numerous different registrations and applications. I am very pleased that the BundID can now also be used for services provided by the Federal Employment Agency. This makes access to digital services secure, fast, and easy."

Federal Minister for Labour and Social Affairs Hubertus Heil:

"The Federal Employment Agency has already successfully established digital application processes for benefits and is further expanding them. Thanks to the connection to the Federal ID card, digital authentication with the electronic identity card is now also secure and easy. This is an important step towards a modern and citizen-friendly administration."

Andrea Nahles, Chairwoman of the Executive Board of the Federal Employment Agency:

"In the future, citizens will also be able to identify themselves with the Federal Employment Agency using their Federal ID number to use our digital services securely and easily. This is an important step to support the digital transformation of public administration in Germany and to further expand the Federal ID number as a central identification tool for all online applications ."

Less effort, time saved

Applications can be submitted even faster and more easily with the BundID. For example, the BundID enables the automatic pre-filling of online applications with personal data. This reduces the effort required for completion and saves time. Typographical errors are avoided, and applications can therefore be processed more quickly.

Furthermore, the principle of data minimization is observed: citizens themselves confirm the transfer of their data and thus retain full control. In addition, further digital administrative services can be used with the BundID account, data can be managed centrally, and the electronic mailbox facilitates the receipt of notices and documents.

Continuous development of digital administration

Since 2019, the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community has provided the BundID as a central user account for digital administration. This account is continuously being developed further. Currently, over 1200 online services and portals are connected.
