Addiction affects many people. It is one of the most common mental illnesses. A dependence on addictive substances or behavioral addictions dramatically and permanently alters not only the lives of those affected, but also those of family members and close friends.
For this reason, the "Addiction Awareness Week" will take place in Bremen and Bremerhaven from June 8th to 16th, 2024. Various events will be held on the topic of addiction, addressing the responsible use of addictive substances and behaviors with addictive potential from different perspectives. In addition, support and prevention services, as well as self-help resources, will be presented.
Conference for interested parties
At the conference “Consumption – A Topic That Affects Us All” on June 12th at the State Institute for Schools (LIS), consumption and addiction will be examined from different perspectives in several presentations. Topics include, for example, stigmatization and society's view of addiction, the perspective of companies, and the perspective of parents.
