The BeBeE ombudsman's office in Bremen has been providing ombudsman services to children, young people, and their families in the area of ​​child and youth welfare for 10 years. The anniversary will be celebrated on March 7, 2024, with an open house at Rembertistraße 32, on the 4th floor.

At 2 p.m., Bremen's Senator for Labor, Social Affairs, Youth and Integration, Dr. Claudia Schilling, will open the event with a welcoming address. Until 6 p.m., all interested parties can learn about the counseling services offered and speak with the staff. Young people and their families are especially welcome. Registration is not required.

About the BeBeE

BeBeE is one of the nationwide ombudsman offices for child and youth welfare. Consultation is available when questions arise or specific problems occur in contact with public authorities (e.g., the youth welfare office) or independent child and youth welfare organizations.

The ombudsman's office for child and youth welfare in the state of Bremen has offices and consultation rooms at two locations. Personal consultations usually take place there.

The counselling service is provided by a total of four full-time counsellors with legal or social work qualifications. All counsellors have many years of experience in providing ombudsman services or working in the field of child and youth welfare. The team is complemented by a coordinator and two administrative staff members.

A request can be submitted to the ombudsman's office in the state of Bremen

  • For child welfare services: if the Bremen or Bremerhaven youth welfare office is responsible. If this is not the case, the contact persons will gladly refer you to the appropriate ombudsman's office.
  • For daycare centers: if your child's daycare center is located in Bremen or Bremerhaven.

The work of our counseling center is based on Book VIII of the German Social Code. We primarily offer advice on child and youth welfare services and related topics, as well as childcare facilities. Our counseling is free, voluntary, confidential, and can be anonymous upon request.
